IELTS Eligibility
Candidates can take the IELTS exam regardless of their age, nationality, or race. There are no primary eligibility conditions for the IELTS exam. The candidates must be above 16 years of age to appear for IELTS. For IELTS, nationality proof is also required. The IELTS conducting body has not set any minimum IELTS criteria for educational qualification.
IELTS Registration
The candidates can do IELTS registration through online mode or can visit the nearest IDP office to register offline. Across India, there are 80 IELTS test centers located, and the candidates can choose the test center’s location, which is easily accessible. IELTS Online registration
Now IELTS registration is easy and quick. There are three different levels to book for the IELTS test. The candidates have to visit the official websites for IELTS registration, and then:
Create an account on the IELTS website
Search for the suitable date slot as per the availability at the nearest IELTS test centers.
Complete your registration by paying online.
IELTS Offline Registration
The candidates have to download the IELTS exam registration form from the official website. Fill out the other requirements asked in the form and manually select the date. Then the candidate has to pay through the demand draft or in cash. The candidate must provide the blue dart courier’s available address on the registration form.
IELTS Exam Fees
There are many ways through which candidates can pay IELTS exam fees online, net banking, or offline by paying the amount at ICICI bank. The candidates should also look at cancellation, and rescheduling fees before paying. The IELTS exam fee can also be paid using credit or debit cards, net banking, or Demand Draft.
IELTS Cancellation Fees
- When the candidate wants to cancel the exam, they should cancel it more than five weeks before the test date; 25% of the administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.
- There will be no refund if the cancellation is made less than five weeks before the test date.
- If the candidate does not attend the test and receives no refund, their test will be considered canceled.
IELTS Rescheduling Fees
If a candidate wants to reschedule the IELTS exam date, they should reschedule the date at least five weeks before the stipulated exam date. The candidate should reschedule the IELTS exam date within three months of the first assigned date. To reschedule the test date, the candidate has to pay an amount of $40.50 inclusive of all taxes.
IELTS Exam Dates
The available IELTS exam dates are every month for international students four times. There are 48 dates for IELTS annually, and the booking depends on availability. The students giving the exam can take the IELTS exam dates on 48 different days for the Academic section and 24 dates for the General Training section.

IELTS Exam pattern
The IELTS exam pattern contains four sections- Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking. The IELTS Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking is conducted on the same day, and IELTS speaking can be scheduled up to a week before or after other tests. For IELTS Speaking, the candidates are assessed in three parts, and each part is recorded. The total duration for IELTS speaking is 11-14 minutes.
IELTS Results
The IELTS Result will be declared after 13 days from the test. The students can access the scorecard offline or online. The IELTS score is valid for two years. The candidate should submit the identification document number to know the IELTS score. The candidate also provides the candidate number generated during the IELTS application and the ID proof. The result will be available on IDP or British Council IELTS website.
IELTS Cutoff
For the top universities, the IELTS Cutoff generally ranges between 7-and 8. Some universities have a predetermined sectional cutoff for each section of the IELTS syllabus.
