Full-Form of NATA

National Aptitude Test in Architecture is the Full Form of NATA. It is authorized by the Council of Architecture which COA is the authorization body of NATA. It is the only body that is responsible for decisions related to NATA. So, this is the body that decides the exam pattern, syllabus, and other things related to NATA.

NATA is an Entrance Exam for Architecture which is compulsory for taking admission. By giving this entrance exam you can take admission to any college in India. For applying for the entrance exam you need to be a citizen of India and must complete 10+2 years of education or a diploma of 3 years in which mathematics should be the compulsory subject.

So, the scores obtained from the NATA exam are used for admission selection in the colleges in India. It is a common exam in which marks are compared with the marks obtained for taking admission to a college on a merit basis. So, these marks are mostly used for government-aided and unaided colleges for admission in architecture.

So, the marks obtained in the NATA exams are valid for a year and after that they are invalid, you need to appear for the NATA exam again.

Eligibility for NATA

So, there are some eligibility criteria that need to be followed for applying for the NATA exam. For applying for the NATA exam aspired need to 12th pass or more. So, here are some of the eligibility criteria that need to follow:

Age

For applying for the NATA exam there is no age limitation for giving the exam. But while taking admission in architecture there might be some colleges that can have an age limit. So, some colleges may have an age limit for taking admission in their college.

Education Qualification

So, the aspire needs to be 10+2 years or 10+3 years of diploma with mathematics as a compulsory subject.

So, an aspire needs to be passed with minimum marks as per the syllabus in subjects like physics, chemistry, and mathematics in the 12th class.

In 10+3 years i.e diploma you need to pass with minimum marks and mathematics as a compulsory subject.

How to fill NATA form

NATA exam is released generally twice a year in January and March. So, here is how you can fill NATA application form or exam form step by step:

  1. You need to visit the official website of NATA
  2. After that, you need to register yourself.
  3. Fill in the personal details and generate a unique identification number which is of 8 digits.
  4. Now, fill in educational details.

Fill in all the educational details and select the center for examination for NATA.

  1. Upload your photo and signature.
  2. You need to pay exam form fees which is Rs.1800/-
  3. After filling in all the information you have to submit the form by clicking Submit Button.
  4. Take out the print of the application form for further needs.

Exam Pattern of NATA

Generally, this exam is conducted twice a year which is April and July. The pattern of the exam is decided by the Council of Architecture which COA. So, the exam is a combination of a pen and paper test and an online exam.

So, the exam consists of two parts Section A and Section B. Section A is for the drawing test and Section B is a pen and paper and online exam which generally contains PCM and aptitude questions. So, the total number of questions asked in the NATA exam is 53.

So, for giving the exam an aspirant needs to know about drawing and the mathematical formulas for drawing the patterns.
